Games are a great way of connecting with other people, staying fit, and having fun!
*Jump Rope Measurement (pg 84) - great STEM activity for little kids (think pre-K through 2nd grade) and then making a plastic bag jump rope
*Recycle activities from the "One World, Many Stories" year with games around the world (pg 86, 87, 90)
*Bring in an athlete, ANY athlete, to read a story or participate in a sports related program (pg 93) - think outside the box and invite dancers, cheerleaders, frisbee golf players...
*Sports trivia program - this can also be an excellent self-directed program on a bulletin board or other library space. The manual has example questions, but you could also pull from Trivial Persuit cards or THE INTERNET (pg 92)
*Dance party kickoff! The manual focuses on 1950's dance moves (pg 83) but a regular dance party would be just as fun. Older kids (say 3rd-5/6th grade) might enjoy learning the hand jive or the stroll, but others might find it too dated.
