Sports fanatic

Many teens in your area are probably sports fanatics in one way or another. Whether it's playing or watching them, teens can't get enough. These library programs are sure to be a hit during the "Get in the Game" Summer Reading Program.

Unique Sports


As a librarian, you are in a perfect spot to introduce your teens to all sorts of new things that haven't they seen before. There are many options. Try having discussions or demonstrations on these unique sports. There are so many book tie ins for teens with these!
Roller Derby -
Now this sport has it all. It is basically a YA novel all on its own. Strong, female role models are always a win.
LARPing -
Live Action Role Playing is anything but a game to most of its participants. Usually set in fantasy realms, players act out their characters. 
Juggling -
What teen doesn't want to learn to juggle chain saws? Wait... don't do that.
